The Duchess of Cambridge Takes Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Stationery Shopping

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted treating her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to some fun new stationery during a family shopping trip, according to shop owner Alexa (@lexif1980) on Twitter.

Kate and her royal trio popped into Smiggle on King’s Road in London on Monday, ahead of the older Cambridge kids return to school on Tuesday after the Easter Holidays.

Fellow shoppers claim that the children were given their own budget in the shop, and once they had picked their items took them to the till and paid with their own money. Apparently the Duchess is teaching her kids about budgeting!

“I’ve always been a Kate Middleton fan… today she was in one of my stores on the Kings Road with George and Charlotte, what the team told me about how she was with them and how the kids were with each other makes me like her even more!” Alexa wrote.

She added in replies to the original tweet that workers said George, and Charlotte, “had a budget that they stuck to and paid for their own things with their own money.”

“Just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!” Alexa said.

Prince Louis also joined his mom and older siblings for another outing to Sainsbury’s, where the mom picked up an enchilada dinner kit.

“You wouldn’t have thought anything different about her,” local mom Kate Carter told PEOPLE. “It was just a normal shopping day out. The kids weren’t playing up, they weren’t misbehaving. It was all so normal — but she’s not normal!” she adds.

One onlooker told HELLO! at the time, “She was with the children, and she looked lovely. She is absolutely beautiful, and the children were beautiful. They were so well behaved.

“…She was just having a little bit of a walk around. They were looking at the clothes when I saw them. Charlotte was looking at the dresses.”

It’s far from the first time Kate has been seen popping to the shops with her children.

In 2019 she was seen buying Halloween costumes for George and Charlotte in Sainsbury’s supermarket in Norfolk (near the family’s country home, Amner Hall), using the self-check out tills.

The year before, shoppers were stunned to see the family in The Range, and George was fascinated by a pot of slime.

Teacher Sarah Daniels told Daily Mail : “As I was looking at the shelves I noticed a tall dark-haired lady further down the aisle and thought to myself ‘I recognise that face’.”

Mrs Daniels said that at one point, Charlotte sat on the floor and was told by her mother, dressed casually in jeans, low-heeled boots and a jacket: “Get up, poppet.”

George then asked if they could buy some dinosaur slime – a popular school playground fad in Britain – but Mrs Daniels said she “didn’t register a response” from the Prince’s mother.

She added that when she left The Range a fleet of Range Rovers were parked outside. Mrs Daniels presumed they had transported the royals and their police protection officers to the store.

Local Kathy Whittaker spotted the royal mom browsing the Halloween section with Prince George and Princess Charlotte during the visit.

“I didn’t see what she actually bought. The lady that told me she was there had children with her and she said Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween,” Whittaker said, according to reports. “I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids, but I don’t know what.”
